Jeff Rank

A court reporter that worked numerous trials with Jeff Rank once summed up his courtroom style succinctly: “He is a bulldog.”

 

Jeff is a powerful advocate for his clients. Negotiation and mediation are superb, especially in family law, but they work best with an attorney who is not afraid to go to trial. That is Jeff. 

 

He approaches each case with compassion and confidence. Jeff is an excellent communicator with the experience to tackle whatever a case brings. 

 

Often retained specifically to act as trial counsel, Jeff succeeds in court by knowing his cases inside and out, understanding his client’s goals, and - above all else - asking good questions.  He loves having a witness on the stand and firmly believes in seeking justice through strong oral advocacy.  

 

Talking about what attracts him to this field, Jeff explains, “Family law makes a real difference in real people's lives. We help people through some of the most impactful life changes they will ever experience. I’ve done civil and criminal work, but what I like about family law is that at the end of the day I am making a positive impact in people’s lives where it matters most: family.”

 

Before pursuing law as a career, Jeff was an oceanographer.  He did cave diving in the Yucatan, conducted research on chaotic dynamics of heterogeneous population models, and worked on marine policy issues at the national level in Washington, DC.  

 

A second generation attorney, Jeff returned to school in 2005 and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston. After working in bankruptcy and real estate law in Houston, he returned to his hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas and founded his own firm.  After visiting friends and his older brother in western Washington, Jeff and his family fell in love with the region and moved here in 2021.

 

Jeff has two kids of his own and lives with his wife, Nicole, in Enumclaw. When he is not fighting for the rights of his clients, Jeff enjoys turning wood, hiking and camping, and exploring the Pacific Northwest.  He likes fishing (but is not particularly good at it), and is rumored to occasionally fumble with blues guitar.
